There’s No Romance Amanda Owen Opens Up About Life with Ex-Husband Clive

Amanda Owen has revealed that there is “no romance” in her relationship with ex-husband Clive Owen, despite the pair maintaining a close bond while co-parenting their nine children and working together.

Amanda and Clive, who announced their separation in June 2022 after 22 years of marriage, have surprised fans by teaming up for a new More4 series, Our Farm Next Door. The show follows their efforts to renovate a derelict farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales.

In a candid interview with The Times, the Our Yorkshire Farm star shared insights into their dynamic. “We’re just getting on with it. We bicker. We argue. There’s no romance. But we’re all right with each other, and that’s a blessing,” Amanda said.

Reflecting on their separation, Amanda added: “If you’ve gone through a separation, there’s a reason you separated. And it’s usually because you’re not getting on. Who wants that? We’re here, and we’ve got a joint mission. It’s about securing the future of the farm, the children.”

Their children move between their family home at Ravenseat Farm and a nearby holiday rental, which is currently unused. Amanda admitted that Clive’s presence remains close, saying, “[Clive] is not very separated.”

The pair’s banter has also made its way into their show. In one episode, Amanda said, “I do his head in, he does my head in. But we’re both basically on the same side.”

When announcing their split in 2022, Amanda emphasized their commitment to their family. “This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family,” she shared on social media. “Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”

She also dispelled rumors surrounding their breakup, telling MailOnline: “There was nobody involved in the break-up with Clive, and I don’t understand why this is being suggested. I’m just getting on with my life as an independent woman, looking after the kids and my sheep.”

Clive has been equally open about his feelings since their separation. “If I’m honest about it, I didn’t want to accept that I was no longer the breadwinner for our family,” he admitted. “It was especially hard knowing that Amanda, who is a very beautiful woman, would be going out all dressed up to launches and events and meeting other people.”

Despite the end of their marriage, Amanda and Clive continue to prioritize their family and farm, proving that even after separation, collaboration and co-parenting can thrive.
