Former palace aides reportedly could launch legal action if Prince Harry’s book is ‘inaccurate’

Prince Harry has pledged that his upcoming memoir will be a “wholly truthful” account of his life — including “the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned” — but former palace aides are said to be concerned about its contents.

A royal insider claims that should the Duke of Sussex’s book contain inaccurate information, former palace aides are reportedly prepared to take legal action against him and his wife Meghan Markle.

Allegedly, a handful of staff that used to work for Harry and Meghan are concerned that the 36-year-old prince’s memoir could contain “a false narrative” of how the Sussexes were treated when they were residing in the United Kingdom.

“Harry and Meghan’s former staff members are convinced that this book is being written to settle scores and will likely include a lot of detail about their time within the Royal Family,” a royal insider told Mail Online. “Based on the Oprah Winfrey interview, some of these ex-workers simply do not trust that a full and accurate picture will be presented.

“Conversations have already started about what steps they might be able to take to protect their own reputation and that of the monarchy post-publication.”

Last week, when Harry confirmed his memoir in a statement on the Archewell website, he explained that he was writing his book “not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

According to Penguin Random House, which is the publisher behind Harry’s book, the Duke will be donating proceeds from his foray into authorhood to charity.
