Desperate Search for Missing Twin Sisters Near River Intensifies as Police Reveal New Details

The search for Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, two sisters who disappeared in Aberdeen over a week ago, has taken a chilling turn as friends and family grow increasingly concerned for their safety. The sisters, 32, were last seen in the early hours of January 7 on Market Street, heading toward the River Dee, reported by BBC.

Originally from Hungary and part of a set of triplets, the sisters had recently made the surprising decision to leave their rented flat without notifying their family. Their brother, Jozsef, revealed that just days before their disappearance, the sisters had a normal phone call with their mother. Nothing seemed unusual until it emerged they had informed their landlady they were moving out, leaving relatives in shock.

Police Scotland is focusing its extensive search efforts along the River Dee, using helicopters, marine units, and dogs to scour the area. Chief Inspector Darren Bruce has urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. “Eliza and Henrietta’s family remain extremely worried about them, and we are in regular contact as our searches continue,” he said.

Family members issued an emotional plea for help: “This has been a very worrying and upsetting time for our family. We are really worried about Eliza and Henrietta, and all we want is for them to be found. If you think you might have any information, please pass it on as quickly as you can.”

The sisters, described as white, slim, with long brown hair, were last captured on CCTV crossing Victoria Bridge and heading toward Aberdeen Boat Club. Despite extensive efforts, there has been no evidence they left the area, leading authorities to focus on the riverbanks and nearby homes.

Chief Inspector Bruce stressed the importance of even minor details: “If you were in the area in the early hours of last Tuesday morning, please think back. Did you notice anyone matching their description? Any piece of information could prove crucial.”

As the days pass, the family’s desperation grows. The police continue to analyze CCTV footage, conduct door-to-door inquiries, and appeal for any private surveillance or dashcam recordings from the area.

With no clear leads and a community rallying to assist, the mystery of Eliza and Henrietta’s disappearance has left many asking—what happened on that cold January night?
