Meghan Markle’s Secret Royal Title If Stripped of Duchess Status: ‘Princess Henry’ Revealed!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry retained their royal titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their dramatic split from the royal family in 2020. However, intriguing details have emerged about what would happen if King Charles decided to strip the couple of these titles: Meghan would automatically become Princess Henry.

When Meghan married Prince Harry, she became the Duchess of Sussex, while Harry became the Duke of Sussex, titles gifted by Queen Elizabeth. But amidst ongoing tensions with senior royals, including King Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Camilla, Queen Consort, rumors have swirled about the potential stripping of these titles. Kensington Palace has yet to comment on any official decision.

Interestingly, if the titles were ever removed, Meghan would still retain a royal designation. She would then use the title Princess Henry, derived from Prince Harry’s official name, Henry Charles Albert David. Ironically, this title would place her higher in rank than her duchess designation, as a princess title signifies royalty, while a duchess title reflects nobility.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, discussed the possibility with The Mirror. She shared her insights on whether King Charles would ever remove Harry and Meghan’s titles. “I don’t think anything will happen to the titles because, if they lose their titles, Harry is still a prince of the blood, and Meghan, instead of being the Duchess of Sussex, [would] be Princess Henry.”

Seward further explained, “That really would [confuse the Americans]. I think [it’s] probably best just to leave it because it looks unkind, it looks unnecessary.”

“The Queen gave them the titles, let them keep them – they’re going to be ‘H and M’ anyway. I think the best thing is to leave them, ignore them, and let them get on with it; which is really what the palace and the royal family are doing,” Seward concluded.

Despite the speculation, it seems unlikely that any changes will be made to Harry and Meghan’s titles. Their status as Duke and Duchess of Sussex remains intact, and any alteration would only serve to complicate matters further. As Seward noted, the best approach might be to simply allow them to continue with their lives, avoiding unnecessary controversy.

In the end, whether they are known as the Duke and Duchess or Prince and Princess, Harry and Meghan’s ties to the royal family ensure their titles remain a topic of fascination and debate. As the royal family navigates its internal dynamics, the world continues to watch closely, eager for the next chapter in this ongoing saga.
