Sadly, a 20-Year-Old Mother Preparing for Her Baby’s First Christmas Passes Away in Her Sleep

A young mother from Hull, Caitlin Faulder, aged 20, tragically passed away in her sleep, potentially due to a heart attack. Living with her parents, Kellie and John Faulder, and her five-month-old daughter Poppy, Caitlin was discovered unresponsive in her bed on November 19.

Her sister, Charlotte Faulder, 19, expressed the family’s profound grief, noting Caitlin’s recent complaints of heart pain. Despite having an abnormal ECG during her pregnancy, her health concerns were reportedly not deemed serious.

Caitlin, who was eagerly anticipating Christmas and her return to work at a local Costa Coffee, had already prepared Christmas gifts for Poppy, told Hull Live.

The family’s sorrow is deepened by the suddenness of her death; she seemed perfectly well the night before. Known for her love of dancing and music, especially Ed Sheeran and Christmas tunes, Caitlin was planning to decorate for the holiday season.

Her father, John, discovered Caitlin after responding to Poppy’s cries. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful, and it is believed she suffered a peaceful heart attack in her sleep. The family, including Caitlin’s other siblings Chloe, Joseph, and Jasmine, are now organizing her funeral and have started a GoFundMe campaign to cover the expenses and create a memorial for Poppy.

They aim to raise £4,000 for a fitting farewell and potentially a headstone in Hessle cemetery, honoring Caitlin’s love for the area. The funeral plans await further details pending a post-mortem examination.
