Kate Middleton’s secret salutation to King Charles while dashing around in a spectacular red cape

During a state visit by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, the Princess of Wales, Kate, captured attention with her stunning red ensemble. She joined her husband, Prince William, in accompanying President Yoon and his wife from their hotel to a ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade, where they met King Charles and Queen Camilla.

For the occasion, Kate chose a bold red cape by Catherine Walker over a red coat dress, adorned with a prominent bow. Her outfit was completed with red heels, a Jane Taylor hat, and sapphire earrings previously worn by the late Princess Diana.

According to The Mirror, However, it was her respectful curtsy to King Charles at Horse Guards Parade that drew particular notice. This gesture, a deep and respectful curtsy as Charles greeted the South Korean President and First Lady, signified the first time she had seen her father-in-law that day, adhering to the royal protocol of bowing or curtsying to the monarch once per day.

At Horse Guards Parade, a site traditionally associated with the King’s official birthday, President Yoon, escorted by Charles, inspected a guard of honour from F Company Scots Guard, a unit that had recently trained troops in South Korea.

Following the inspection, a carriage procession returned to Buckingham Palace. The King and President Yoon rode in the Irish State Coach, followed by Queen Camilla with Mrs. Kim in the Australian State Coach, and William and Kate with Choo Kyung-ho, South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, in the Scottish State Coach. The visit continued at Buckingham Palace with a lunch and a viewing of Korean items from The Royal Collection in the palace’s Picture Gallery.
