Vicious Dog Attack Leaves Sheffield Man Hospitalized

The attack occurred on Dagnam Crescent just after 5 pm, involving two powerful dogs—a Mastiff and a Cane Corso—that reportedly escaped from a nearby property. The unsuspecting victim was walking down the street when the dogs launched their brutal assault.
The man suffered deep cuts and puncture wounds across his body and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. He remains in the hospital, where he underwent surgery to treat his serious injuries.

A second victim, a 14-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries while bravely trying to intervene and stop the attack. Fortunately, his injuries did not require hospitalization.
South Yorkshire Police swiftly responded to the scene, arresting a 21-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a dog dangerously out of control and obstructing a police officer. A 39-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a dog dangerously out of control. Both individuals have since been released on police bail, pending further investigation.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police stated, “Dog owners need to step up and take action to ensure their pets are under control at all times. Incidents like this are completely preventable and devastating for the victims.”
