Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, shared her thoughts on Kate Middleton’s heartfelt video about completing chemotherapy, calling it an “incredible” moment. In an interview on This Morning on October 10, the 64-year-old expressed her admiration for the Princess of Wales’ touching message from September 9. The video featured Princess Kate alongside Prince William and their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
Ferguson, clearly moved, described her reaction to the video: “I mean, I was so moved. It was beautiful.” She further commended the 42-year-old for the impactful message she delivered, via People.
“She’s showing the world what it really is to look after yourself and self-love in order to help others, and I think that’s extraordinary, what she did,” Ferguson stated, highlighting Kate’s dedication to promoting self-care and love as a means of support for others.
The Duchess, who has herself faced and conquered cancer, also reflected on King Charles’ experience with the illness. King Charles was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and Ferguson mentioned his empathetic approach when he visited Cancer Research U.K.
“I loved when the King went to Cancer Research U.K. and actually sat on the sofa, and it’s coming from a place of empathy because he does understand,” Ferguson said, emphasizing the significance of his actions.
She elaborated on the importance of genuine connection and empathy, saying, “That was the first time yesterday when I was sitting there with someone, it’s not just, ‘I understand’ and patronizing. It was, ‘I know,’ and so, I think, to be able to talk about it is real, and I think we have to.”
