Inside Ruth Langsford’s Life After Eamonn Split — Health Struggles and a Dramatic New Chapter

Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were once ITV royalty – the couple that brought warmth, laughs, and a real sense of connection to This Morning for years. But in May 2024, their seemingly rock-solid marriage came to an unexpected end, and Ruth has since been quietly carving out a whole new life for herself.

The pair, who tied the knot in 2010 after a long relationship, confirmed their separation and plans to divorce via a joint statement. With big-name wedding guests and a career built side by side, their split came as a surprise to fans. Together they share a son, Jack, and had worked on-screen for nearly two decades, always appearing like the perfect balance of bickering and bonded, reported the Surry Live.

Since going public with the split, Ruth, now 65, has stayed strong and professional, continuing her work on Loose Women without skipping a beat. But behind the scenes, the journey hasn’t been easy. According to reports, the breakdown of the marriage may have stemmed from Ruth discovering Eamonn had been having “intimate conversations” with another woman. It’s said she found compromising messages on his laptop and overheard a private call in their home, which ultimately led to a confrontation that left her devastated.

A source told The Sun, “Eamonn thought he was in the house alone while he was chatting on the phone. But Ruth could hear him… and was totally horrified.” Another insider added, “To discover he was sharing intimate chats with another woman was a real kick in the teeth for Ruth.”

More recently, reports suggest Eamonn is now seeing Katie Alexander, 42, with rumours hinting that the two first connected back in 2015 through social media.

While the news might have rattled anyone, Ruth has been focusing on healing. She’s spoken about the emotional adjustment of life without Eamonn, calling it “a huge change.” But she’s channelled her energy into the small things that bring her peace – spending time with friends, cooking, pottering in the garden, and looking after her mum Joan.

Ruth recently shared that her 94-year-old mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, hasn’t been well. The two, along with Ruth’s beloved dog Maggie, are now living together, and Ruth gave a touching update on Mother’s Day, saying: “Maggie and I are with her, though, and giving her lots of TLC.”

Despite everything, Ruth’s not rushing into anything new romantically. She’s taking her time, focusing on herself, and slowly embracing what comes next.
