Expert Warns Meghan and Harry’s ‘Desperate’ Move Into US Politics Could Be a Major Risk

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been cautioned to remain silent on U.S. political matters, as the 2024 presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump heats up. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have avoided taking sides thus far, are being warned that any involvement in politics could backfire.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers spoke to The Sun, expressing concern about the potential consequences of the couple engaging in U.S. politics. “It’s a big danger issue for them,” Vickers noted. He added, “I think that everything they do is a desperate attempt to keep relevant and keep themselves in the news.”

Vickers critiqued the Sussexes’ public involvement, including past efforts encouraging people to vote. “You could say it’s very trivial to put out a notice saying, ‘Go out and vote.’ We know people should do that. It’s not really up to them to tell the American population how they should spend their time, or what they should do at all,” he explained.

The royal expert further pointed out that the couple’s actions seem geared toward staying in the public eye. “But in that respect, I do see them once again weighing in and seeking publicity because that’s how they stay relevant. They’ve moved into this kind of celebrity status situation, whereby they must always be attracting news comments, otherwise they disappear,” Vickers said.

However, Vickers strongly advised against the couple getting involved in politics. “But they definitely should not be dabbling in any kind of politics, least of all American politics. They have really no right to do it,” he warned.

With their roles as high-profile figures in both the U.S. and the U.K., the Sussexes face unique scrutiny regarding their actions, especially in the politically charged environment ahead of the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Experts and observers alike are urging them to tread carefully, especially when it comes to politics.
