Donna Preston Swore Off Celebrity Big Brother Before Surprise U-turn Decision
Donna Preston once swore she’d never set foot in the Celebrity Big Brother house – but that’s exactly where she’s ended up, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Mickey Rourke, JoJo Siwa, and Patsy Palmer.
The 38-year-old comedian and actor had her reasons. She thought the whole thing would be way too exposing and always said it wasn’t for her. But now, she’s not only in the house – she’s part of what’s being called the best CBB lineup ever, reported Metro.co.uk.
It’s a big shift from where she stood just months ago. A friend told The Sun they were stunned by her U-turn, saying Donna had long claimed she couldn’t handle the intensity of being a housemate. But when a £30,000 paycheque was on the table, she decided it was time to step outside her comfort zone.
“She obviously had a change of heart when she was offered the money and couldn’t turn down the payday,” the friend shared. “But this is definitely out of her comfort zone. It’s hard for comedians to be ‘on’ 24/7.”
While Donna’s fee is modest compared to others – Mickey Rourke is reportedly raking in £500,000 and JoJo Siwa around £400,000 – she’s embracing the experience. Even if she did accidentally call Patsy Palmer “Bianca” at first, before realising Patsy’s real name is actually Julie.
Despite initial nerves, Donna seems to have a plan for dealing with the chaos inside the house. She admitted that “rude” people might get on her nerves, but says she’s not one to start arguments. “If I find that something is getting to me, I’ll move myself away from the situation. I’ll just spend my time in the bath,” she said.
That might come in handy given Mickey Rourke’s controversial presence. The Hollywood star has already been slapped on the wrist by ITV for his comments towards JoJo Siwa and his past behaviour towards presenter AJ Odudu.
Donna’s no stranger to the screen though. She’s appeared in The Sandman, The Hitman’s Bodyguard with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, and Holmes & Watson alongside Will Ferrell. UK viewers might also recognise her from Coronation Street, Fantastic Beasts, and her prankster appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
Now, she’s in the mix with a whole host of celebs including Chesney Hawkes, Jack P Shepherd, Angellica Bell, Danny Beard and more. Whether she thrives or just lives in the bath, Donna’s definitely made her mark already.
