Chanelle Hayes apologises

Big Brother’s Chanelle Hayes apologises for weight loss post after Nikki Grahame’s death

Chanelle Hayes has taken to social media to apologise after a pre-scheduled post about her recent weight loss was shared on her account just days after Big Brother icon Nikki Grahame’s tragic death

Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes has apologised to her fans for her “totally inappropriate” Instagram post in the wake of the death of Nikki Grahame.

Nikki sadly passed away on Friday at the age of 38 after a long battle of anorexia.

A pre-scheduled post appeared on Chanelle’s account over the weekend discussing her recent weight loss.

She wrote to her 105,000 followers on Saturday: “Guys I have just deleted a post that was pre-planned and scheduled.

“I have immediately deleted it because I know the sad sad news about Nikki and I feel it was completely inappropriate, even though unintentional.”

The mother-of-two went on to pay tribute to the late star on social media.

“I met Nikki on several occasions and she always had me in stitches, such a character,” she said.

“The news is utterly horrid, and I find it terrifying that anorexia and other eating disorders have such power over people.”

“Sending love to all Nikki’s friend and family at this horrible time.”

A post shared on a Go Fund Me page set up to raise funds for Nikki to receive private treatment shared the heartbreaking news of her death on Saturday.

It read: “It is with great sadness, we have to let you know that our dear friend Nikki passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April.

“It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age. Nikki not only touched the lives of millions of people, but also her friends and family who will miss her immensely.

“We would like to request privacy at this difficult time, while Nikki’s friends and family process the sad news.

Full details will be released as and when we know them.”

Davina McCall, Rylan Clark-Neal, Glyn Wise and Pete Bennett have also remembered Nikki with touching social media posts.

Former Big Brother host Davina tweeted: “I am so desperately sad to hear about Nikki Grahame x my thoughts are with her friends and family xx she really was the funniest , most bubbly sweetest girl x”
