Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Arrested

Jersey Shore’s Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Has Been Arrested For Domestic Violence

Police have arrested Jersey Shore alum Ronnie Ortiz-Magro for domestic violence.

E! News and Us Weekly have authorities confirming the booking has been laid against the former reality TV star for ‘intimate partner violence with injury’.

The 35-year-old is already on probation for a separate domestic violence case involving his ex-girlfriend Jen Harley.

US Weekly said the new charges do not relate to Harley.

Ronnie’s lawyers, Scott E. Leemon and Leonard Levine, told E! News in a collective statement: “We have just learned of the new allegations against Ronnie and need some additional time to further investigate. As such, we will not be making any other statements at this time.”

In October 2019, authorities were called to a Los Angeles home over a ‘battery incident’ when Ronnie was dating Jen.

Police had to use a taser to subdue the former Jersey Shore star before he was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence and kidnapping.

The 35-year-old was charged with domestic violence, brandishing a weapon, child endangerment, false imprisonment [of Jen], resisting arrest and making criminal threats.

He was ordered to 30 days of community labor in Nevada, complete a 52-week domestic violence program at a court-approved agency and donate USD$20,000 to a LA-based women’s shelter.

Since dating his new girlfriend, Saffire Matos, Ronnie says his life has drastically improved.

Telling Us Weekly, the former Jersey Shore star said Saffire was a breath of fresh air.

“She supports me. She loves me, you know, and that’s something that I’ve always looked for. And I feel like that’s [some]thing that I have not gotten in return and it’s [some]thing that I’ve always given to other people,” he said in November last year.

“I would definitely say I’m in the happiest place I’ve been in a long time. You know, I feel like in the past I’ve always said, ‘I’m happy and I’m in a good place.’ I feel like I finally really have found my happiness.”
He added that attending rehabilitation for drugs and alcohol was instrumental in turning his life around.

“I decided to go to treatment because I wanted to be a better person, a better father for my daughter,” he said.

“Eventually, all the bad decisions I was making were going to lead me to places that I didn’t want to be. I wanted to be led to the place that I am now – that’s happy, healthy and the best role model for my daughter.”
