Royal Expert Reveals Early Signs of Discontent in Harry and Meghan’s First Major Tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from their roles as senior members of the Royal Family has been a subject of intense public interest, and now a royal expert suggests that the seeds of discontent may have been sown during their first major royal tour. Despite the fairytale wedding and widespread adoration during their visit to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, the couple stepped down from their duties less than two years after their wedding, told the Mirror.

The tour, which took place just months after Harry and Meghan’s marriage, was met with enthusiasm from the public. The newlyweds were warmly received as they represented the monarchy abroad, with crowds flocking to see the Sussexes. However, despite the outward success of the trip, royal biographer and editor of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, believes this experience may have been a turning point for Meghan.

In an interview with The Sun, Seward explained: “I think it was a bit of a shock [that] she was being told what to do, she was being told where to go, and she was being told how to do it. She was taking a starring role at that moment in Australia, but in the grand scheme of the monarchy, she was just a small part of it.”

Seward also added that the realization of her position within the Royal Family may have been difficult for Meghan to accept. “I think it was an eye-opener for her that she was always going to be a cog in the wheel because she was married to the number two man [Prince Harry], not the number one, which would have been [Prince] William. That was definitely when the rot began to fester a little bit.”

These reflections have come to light as King Charles and Queen Camilla embark on their own tour of Australia—six years after Harry and Meghan’s impactful visit. The current royal tour, which has received an enthusiastic reception, mirrors the warm welcome Harry and Meghan experienced at iconic locations like the Sydney Opera House.
