Coleen Nolan Opens Up About Supporting Ruth Langsford Amid Split from Eamonn Holmes

Coleen Nolan has shared how the Loose Women team has rallied around Ruth Langsford following her dramatic split from Eamonn Holmes earlier this year. After 14 years of marriage, the former This Morning presenters ended their relationship, with reports suggesting that Ruth discovered messages between Eamonn and other women on his laptop.

Since the split became public in May, Ruth took some time away from the Loose Women panel to focus on her personal life but made her return to the show on July 22. In an interview with Bella Magazine, Coleen Nolan, a close friend and fellow Loose Women panelist, opened up about the support Ruth has received from the team since her divorce, told the mirror.

“The Loose Women have supported me through two divorces, so we are very contrary to what most people try and say about us, that we fight,” Coleen explained. She emphasized the close-knit nature of the group, saying, “I’m closer to the women that I work with at the beginning of the week: Ruth, Janet Street-Porter, Brenda Edwards, Judi Love, sometimes Linda Robson, Christine Lampard.”

Coleen also mentioned the strong bond they share through a WhatsApp group, where they offer support whenever someone is in need. “We’ve got a WhatsApp group for all of us, and when someone needs support, that group just lights up. We’re saying: ‘Here if you need me,’ or, ‘Phone me,'” she added.

Reflecting on her support for Ruth, Coleen humbly downplayed her role, noting that she is simply returning the favor Ruth extended to her during her own marital struggles with her previous husband Shane Richie. “I support her like she supported me when my marriage was not in a good place. And Ruth was really supportive. That’s what friends do,” Coleen said.

Loose Women, which has been airing on ITV since 2000, features a rotating panel of women discussing various topics. Both Ruth and Coleen have been long-standing members of the show, having appeared in some of its earliest episodes. Their enduring friendship and mutual support continue to be a cornerstone of their relationship on and off the screen.
