United Legwear & Apparel Europe Takes Over Scotch & Soda’s European E-commerce Activities

United Legwear & Apparel Europe B.V. has been appointed as the new licensee for Scotch & Soda’s e-commerce operations in Europe, as announced by Bluestar Alliance in a press release on Wednesday.

Bluestar Alliance, which relaunched Scotch & Soda in 2023, retains the brand rights. The American company selected United Legwear & Apparel Europe to manage the e-commerce activities to “strengthen key retail markets and drive digital growth quickly and strategically.” According to Bluestar Alliance, United Legwear & Apparel Europe is a robust and financially secure partner for the European market.

Earlier today, Scotch & Soda revealed that efforts to restart the Northern European retail branch have failed, leading to the immediate closure of all physical stores in that region. The receivers and main stakeholders were unable to reach an agreement to keep the stores open and sell the remaining clothing stock.

Despite the setback in Northern Europe, Scotch & Soda will not completely disappear from these markets. Receivers are exploring potential restarts in Germany and Austria, aiming to maintain the brand’s presence in these areas.

In the press release, Bluestar Alliance highlighted its strategic review of the brand store portfolio, noting that previous management did not optimize this portfolio effectively. “Additional steps will be taken in the coming weeks to enable the business to focus resources on locations that offer the best potential for growth and customer engagement and to identify new locations. We remain committed to maintaining a strong presence in Europe, including the Netherlands, where Scotch & Soda holds a special place.”

This strategic shift aims to refocus the brand’s resources on areas with the greatest potential for growth and customer interaction. Bluestar Alliance is determined to sustain and expand Scotch & Soda’s presence in Europe, ensuring the brand continues to thrive in the market.
