Princess Beatrice Could Step in for Kate Middleton Amid Health Battle

Princess Beatrice may soon take on some of Kate Middleton’s royal duties as the Princess of Wales focuses on her cancer treatment and recovery. A source close to the royal family has revealed that although Beatrice is considered a non-working royal, she has been in the spotlight more recently and might be called upon to handle key events this summer.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, King Charles III is considering Beatrice to cover several important engagements typically overseen by Kate.

This summer’s royal calendar is packed with significant events, including Trooping the Colour, a state banquet, Garter Day, the 80th D-Day anniversary, and several Buckingham Palace garden parties.

Meanwhile, Kate is receiving “preventative” chemotherapy for an undisclosed type of cancer and has not participated in any royal events since December 2023. In her absence, the King may rely on Princess Beatrice, as well as her sister, Princess Eugenie, who is also a non-working royal, to step in occasionally. Beatrice, 35, is reportedly eager to assist.

“I think Beatrice and Eugenie are adding support where they can,” a source noted. “They’ve always been clear they’re non-royal, but they’re always there to help fulfill any duties required.” Another source added, “[Charles] is looking to bring in some fresh blood and he’s looking to Beatrice and Eugenie.

He thinks that they’ve grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset. Charles is listening to his public.” Although these statements have yet to be confirmed by the palace, it wouldn’t be entirely unusual for the Yorks to offer their support. Beatrice has previously helped out the late Queen Elizabeth II during her reign.

As we await an official announcement from the royal family, it’s clear that the royals are ready to resume their regular duties after two cancer diagnoses within the family. Both King Charles and Prince William have returned to public engagements after taking some time off to be with their families.

During a recent solo trip to the Cornish coast, the Prince of Wales provided an update on his wife’s health, telling reporters, “She’s doing very well.” Hopefully, his statement indicates that Princess Kate will soon share positive news about her recovery.

While Princess Beatrice stepping in is not yet official, her potential involvement underscores the family’s commitment to maintaining their duties and supporting one another during challenging times.
