Prince William and Kate Middleton Unlikely to Meet Prince Harry During UK Visit Amid Personal Challenges

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK next month for a significant event, but it appears he will not be meeting with Prince William and Kate Middleton during his visit. The Duke of Sussex is attending the Invictus Games’ 10th Anniversary Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, marking another rare visit since moving to the United States.

Despite the occasion, insiders suggest that there are currently no plans for Harry to meet with his brother and sister-in-law. According to OK! Magazine, the reason is deeply personal: both Kate and King Charles are undergoing treatments for cancer. Kate is presently receiving preventative chemotherapy after a cancer diagnosis that followed major abdominal surgery in January, while the nature of King Charles’s cancer, discovered after a prostate-related procedure, remains undisclosed.

The possibility of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their children accompanying Harry is still under consideration, with security concerns being a significant factor. If the children do travel, a meeting might be arranged primarily for the children’s benefit, though this is not a priority for William and Kate at this time.

A source close to the family explained that William and Kate are focusing on health and recovery, stating, “William and Kate are very consciously focusing on positivity and recovery. Harry is due in London early next month, but there are no plans as of yet to meet with him while he’s over. He’s reached out and sent best wishes, but a meeting might be a little premature.”

Following Kate’s public announcement of her health situation, Harry and Meghan extended their well wishes, hoping for her health and healing. However, the prospect of a grand family reunion appears slim at this juncture, with royal expert Jennie Bonds noting, “I think this is pretty unlikely that Meghan will join him at the service given Harry’s concerns about safety and the ongoing family tensions. I don’t think her presence would make any reconciliation moves easier.”

As Prince Harry prepares for his visit, the spotlight remains on the Invictus Games, a project close to his heart that celebrates injured servicemen and women. Discussions are also ongoing about potentially hosting the games in the UK again, with a significant bid in place to bring the event to Birmingham in 2027.
