Amazon’s Sustainability Accelerator Meet the 15 Start Ups Revolutionizing Green Tech
0Amazon has announced the 15 start-ups chosen for this year’s Sustainability Accelerator, a four-week program designed to pilot their innovative technologies within the marketplace giant. This marks the third edition of the accelerator and the first time participants will have the chance to pitch their technology for trial in Amazon’s European operations.
Among the selected start-ups is Glasgow-based ACS Clothing, a clothing renewal firm specializing in processing returns, rentals, subscriptions, and resale through its cleaning and repair service. According to Amazon, ACS has grown to become Europe’s largest circular fulfillment fashion hub, collaborating with renowned brands like Chloé, The North Face, and LK Bennett.
In a statement, Andrew Rough, CEO of ACS, expressed his excitement about the accelerator: “The accelerator will equip the company with the resources we need to scale up and push on with transforming the global fashion economy.”
ACS is one of three UK-based start-ups selected this year, joining Cheesecake Energy and Breathe Batteries. These companies, along with 12 other start-ups, offer services ranging from reusable packaging solutions to leveraging AI for sustainability.
Throughout the program, participants will engage with experts from Amazon’s Sustainability, Climate Pledge Fund, and Climate Pledge Friendly teams. They will attend workshops, receive mentorship, and benefit from £10,000 worth of AWS Activate Credits.
Following the initial pilot and pitch phase, three start-ups will be chosen to partake in an extended eight to ten-week program aimed at scoping their pilot projects with the intention to launch.
