Witnesses reported that around 9:15 pm, a group of approximately 120 people was leaving the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church on Gifford Road in Willesden when at least five shots rang out. While formal identification is yet to take place, police have confirmed that they are confident the deceased is Michelle Sadio. Her grieving family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
A close friend of Michelle described her as a ‘brilliant woman,’ adding that she was ‘a light in all of our lives.’ The friend further shared, “She adored her children and worked hard to give them a happy life,” reflecting the deep affection her loved ones had for her, reported by the Sun.
Michelle was fatally shot in front of a crowd of shocked onlookers. Road closures remain in place around the scene of the crime as law enforcement officials continue to gather evidence and work on the investigation. Authorities are yet to make any arrests, and inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
Superintendent Tony Josephs addressed the community’s concerns, stating, “This is a truly shocking incident that has left a woman dead and two others injured, and I understand the concern this will cause the local community and those across London.”
He reassured the public, adding, “I want to reassure people that a team of experienced detectives are already working at pace to piece together the events of last night and identify whoever was responsible for this heinous act of violence.”
Josephs further urged anyone with information, particularly those who were in or around Gifford Road at the time of the shooting, to come forward. “A family has been left devastated, and we need to work together to provide them with answers,” he concluded.
