Was Prince William behind Trump’s U-Turn on Prince Harry?

Prince Harry’s U.S. visa status continues to draw considerable attention, and now a surprising claim suggests his brother, Prince William, might have privately intervened to prevent his deportation.

Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths made the suggestion during a recent discussion on GB News, indicating that Prince William possibly spoke with former President Donald Trump about his brother’s legal troubles in the United States.

“What Trump has said is that he’s not going to deport Harry, so we’re not having him back,” Griffiths said. “[Trump] met with Prince William a few months ago, and they seemed to have a little tête-à-tête. Everyone was speculating whether William said, ‘Please, for the love of God, don’t send him back.’”

The claims follow an ongoing legal controversy surrounding Harry’s immigration records. Earlier this year, the conservative think-tank Heritage Foundation sued the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, demanding transparency regarding whether Prince Harry properly disclosed his past drug use when applying for his visa.

In his 2023 memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex openly described his prior use of substances including cannabis, cocaine, and psychedelics—each typically affecting U.S. visa eligibility criteria.

However, Trump recently made it clear that he has no intention of pursuing Harry’s deportation. The former president remarked that he would “leave [Harry] alone,” adding pointedly that the prince already has “enough troubles with his difficult wife as it is.”

Meanwhile, Griffiths emphasized Harry’s ongoing dedication to his children amid the immigration speculation. “Even if that marriage ended, he will always remain wherever the kids are,” she stated, implying Harry has no plans to leave the United States or reconcile with his royal family in Britain anytime soon.

Despite Trump’s reassurance, speculation about Prince Harry’s future continues to swirl, fueled by his strained relations with the royal family and the ongoing legal scrutiny surrounding his residency in the United States. The possibility of Prince William’s intervention adds another intriguing layer to the complex narrative involving the Sussexes and their transatlantic life.
