Reality TV Star Blasts Eamonn Holmes for the ‘Most Disastrous Interview of Her Career’

Whitney Thore, the beloved star of TLC’s hit reality series My Big Fat Fabulous Life, has publicly criticized veteran broadcaster Eamonn Holmes, branding her interview with him as “the worst” she has ever experienced, according to the Mirror.

At 40 years old, Whitney first appeared on the show in 2015, initially documenting her inspiring weight loss journey before embarking on a search for love. Over 11 seasons, she has become a fan favorite, celebrated for her authenticity and resilience.

However, during a recent interview with the Daily Star ahead of her latest series, Whitney did not shy away from expressing her dissatisfaction with Holmes. When asked about potential UK television appearances, she made her feelings clear:

“I haven’t done any UK TV shows in about 10 years, but I would gladly go on any and all of them again—except for [any with] Eamonn Holmes,” she stated firmly. “He conducted the absolute worst interview of my entire career, but other than that, my experience in the UK has always been so extremely lovely, and I love my time here so much.”

Despite this negative experience, Whitney remains open to engaging with UK media, emphasizing that not all her interactions have been unfavorable. She shared a recent positive encounter: “Just the other night I got the nicest message from an insanely famous UK singer—I won’t disclose who just for privacy reasons, but it absolutely made my day.”

Whitney also hinted at other challenging moments in her career, adding with a smile, “Of course, I’ve had some crazy showbiz encounters. But I don’t like to gossip.”

Her upcoming series, set to premiere on January 17 on TLC and Discovery+, will delve into her personal life, showcasing friends getting married and having babies, while Whitney navigates her own relationships and the stereotypes people hold about her. The series promises to highlight her ongoing journey with her body image and the societal pressures she faces.

Whitney, who first went viral in 2015 with a dancing video, continues to resonate with audiences through her genuine storytelling and relatable experiences. Her candidness about her challenges and triumphs has made her a role model for many viewers.

Meanwhile, Eamonn Holmes, 65, has a history of high-profile feuds. Known for his long tenure on This Morning, Holmes has previously voiced strong negative opinions about former colleague Phillip Schofield, calling him a “narcissist” following Schofield’s departure amidst personal controversies. Since leaving This Morning, Holmes has been a prominent figure on GB News, hosting a breakfast show alongside Isabel Webster until her departure in early 2024. Amid a reshuffle of hosts, it has been confirmed that Holmes will be launching a new show with Paul Coyte.

Despite his extensive career, Holmes’ confrontational interviewing style has not been well-received by all, as evidenced by Whitney Thore’s recent remarks. This latest criticism adds to his list of contentious interactions with public figures.

Whitney Thore’s outspoken comments highlight the challenges reality stars face in maintaining their public personas while navigating the pressures of fame and media scrutiny. As her new series approaches, fans eagerly await to see how Whitney continues to evolve both on and off the screen.
