Tyshael Martin Accused of Child Murder, Abusive Actions Exposed in Shocking Footage

Tyshael Martin, 34, now faces trial for the first-degree murder of nine-year-old Jamaria Sessions amid harrowing allegations of prolonged abuse. During police questioning, Martin maintained her innocence, stating: “I didn’t murder her”. She now stands accused of orchestrating a vicious campaign of abuse against Jamaria, with some of the most disturbing claims alleging that she incited her family’s Rottweiler to attack the child. Eerie audio evidence reportedly captures Martin threatening: “I’m fixin’ to kill her.”

Authorities have detailed that Jamaria was discovered deceased, her body marked by multiple injuries including bites, burns, cuts, and bruises. In a related development, Jamaria’s father, 27-year-old LoJuan Sessions, has also been charged with aggravated manslaughter, accused of neglecting his responsibility to protect his daughter.

According to Daily Record, Recently released footage from a police interview has added another layer to the case. In the recording, Martin appears unusually detached, attempting to downplay her earlier statements made before Jamaria’s death. When prompted for any final comments regarding the charges, she stated: “I mean, I just want to say I didn’t cause her death. I didn’t kill her, I didn’t murder her. I didn’t do none of it.”

Martin then questioned the basis of the charges, asking: “Why am I being charged with premeditated murder”. Investigators clarified that her charge is directly linked to the remarks made during Jamaria’s final moments. In response, an officer retorted sharply: “Scare tactics was also premeditation.”

During the investigation, a detective provided a detailed account of the extensive injuries Jamaria sustained. According to the official report, the young girl suffered from repeated punches, broken teeth, and possibly even a bite on the back of her head inflicted by the dog. The report also highlighted severe neglect, noting that the child had not been provided with adequate food or water. Martin, however, claimed that the dental injuries were the result of Jamaria falling onto a treadmill and attempted to deflect blame onto her boyfriend.

Reflecting on her own accountability, Martin commented: “I just, I mean, when you say accountable, I feel like I probably could have done more to, you know, possibly prevent things from happening.”

Authorities have collected over 3,000 domestic CCTV clips that document the distressing ordeal endured by Jamaria, including evidence of burns and other injuries that predated the canine assault. Notably, footage from June 16 allegedly shows Martin setting the large Rottweiler upon the child. Lake County emergency services were alerted by medics the morning after when Jamaria was found lifeless in her bed.

Court records further document the brutality of the attack, noting that Jamaria had “a significant number of abrasions, small punctures, burns, possible bite marks, and bruising covering her body, all in various stages of healing.”

A probable cause affidavit also includes a video clip showing Jamaria being “viciously attacked by the family pet, a 103lb male Rottweiler.” Local media reports reveal that Martin is seen holding the dog’s leash and “encouraging the dog to bite” Jamaria as she lay on the floor, just out of the camera’s view.

The affidavit describes, “The next clips show Jamaria Sessions staggering, nude and disheveled. Jamaria’s hair, previously in a partial bun, was now messy, and her extensions were falling out of her hair. It appeared that the dog had bitten the child’s head, pulling at her hair, at the command of Tyshael Martin.” Further, it recounts how Martin allegedly forced Jamaria to stand with her arms raised before, in a fit of rage, delivering a vicious kick: “The child lay motionless, moaning in pain, as Tyshael Martin continued to kick her hip and eventually her stomach area at full force.”
