Prince Harry Faces Fresh Visa Battle as Trump Refuses to Back Down
2
In a development that continues to stir debate in royal and political circles alike, one prominent royal expert has warned that US President Donald Trump “won’t give up” when it comes to the ongoing visa row involving Prince Harry. The controversy erupted after a judge ruled last year that Prince Harry’s visa paperwork would remain confidential, a decision that has now been challenged by a conservative think tank.
The case has drawn renewed attention following the Duke of Sussex’s candid revelations in his memoir, Spare, in which he admitted to taking cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms. These disclosures have prompted conservative groups, notably The Heritage Foundation, to question whether Prince Harry may have been unfairly granted entry into the US in 2020, according to the Express.
At the time, Prince Harry moved to the United States with Meghan Markle, his wife who was originally from California, along with their five-year-old son, Prince Archie. More recently, the couple has also welcomed their daughter, three-year-old Princess Lilibet, further expanding their family in the US.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive, News.com.au’s royal reporter Bronte Coy expressed her concerns about the visa dispute. “The new US President has made no secret about his position on it. He’s been asked about it so many times over the years,” she stated.
Coy elaborated further on the political implications of the case, adding, “I genuinely believe Donald Trump has much more important things to be dealing with. But it’s probably something that’s not going away especially as it continues to get this attention.” Her remarks underline the growing pressure and persistent nature of the controversy.
The situation has been further complicated by the active involvement of The Heritage Foundation. “I think that in itself will be concerning because The Heritage Foundation, who is the one pushing to have the application made public, has also lobbied and urged Donald Trump to intervene. It has said this is about accountability and no one is above the law which is also concerning if they maintain that level of profile on the case,” Coy explained. The think tank’s intervention highlights the broader political ramifications of what might otherwise have been seen as a private family matter.
Before his election, President Trump made headlines with his pointed remarks regarding Prince Harry. In a statement to the Express US, he declared, “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the [late] Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.” These comments have continued to echo in public discourse, fueling speculation about how they may impact the current visa dispute.
With the case remaining under close scrutiny, many are left wondering what further actions might be taken. As the pressure mounts, one thing is clear: the intersection of royal affairs and political power continues to captivate public attention, ensuring that this saga is far from over.
