This Morning Viewers Plead ‘Please Stop!’ as Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond Dance Away on Air

Fans of This Morning were quick to express their frustration just minutes into Friday’s episode as hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond enthusiastically danced to 2000s chart-toppers. The lively duo, known for their high energy, kicked off the September 27 show by grooving to Beyoncé’s hit Crazy In Love during a jukebox segment where they reminisced about their favorite songs from two decades ago.

However, not everyone was entertained. Some viewers took to social media to voice their discontent, with many pleading for the dancing to stop. One unhappy viewer tweeted, “Please stop!” while another complained, “Not sure why we have to have this annoying dancing every Fri.” A third echoed the frustration, writing, “God, it’s awful already.”

The criticism didn’t stop there. Some fans pointed out technical blunders, with one tweet humorously highlighting Alison Hammond addressing the wrong camera: “Alison speaking to the wrong camera sums up this show.”

Despite the negative feedback, not all viewers were displeased. A portion of the audience appreciated the fun, with one fan defending the dancing, saying, “Dancing always cracks me up.” Another chimed in with a more positive note, sharing, “I need Alison and Dermot’s energy today.”

This wasn’t the only incident of the week where This Morning hosts faced criticism. Earlier, on Wednesday, September 25, regular presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard kicked off the show with a festive twist, singing It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas and reminding viewers that Christmas was just 91 days away. But not everyone was ready for holiday cheer in September.

Many viewers were less than thrilled to hear about Christmas so early, with one exasperated fan tweeting, “Why are they talking about Christmas?” Another viewer commented, “Remind me in November, please, I couldn’t give a toss about Christmas now.”

As the debate around the show’s festive content and dance routines continued, it became clear that not all viewers are on board with This Morning’s lighthearted segments, leaving fans divided between the show’s upbeat energy and early holiday celebrations.
