Unveiling the First Image of Teenage Girl Fatally Injured in a Devastating Accident That Hospitalized Four

A devastating collision on the A714 between Shalloch Park Roundabout and Pinmore in South Ayrshire has resulted in the loss of a young life. Seventeen-year-old Jo Marshall, the driver of a blue Volkswagen Polo, tragically lost her life when her vehicle collided with a white Ford Transit van on Thursday at approximately 10 am.

The accident also left four others injured, including a three-year-old child. A 39-year-old woman and the toddler, both passengers in Jo’s car, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

Additionally, two other 17-year-old girls, also passengers in the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for medical attention. Fortunately, the 35-year-old male driver of the van emerged from the collision without injuries.

Inspector Craig Beaver, from Ayrshire’s Roads Policing Unit, expressed condolences to Jo’s family and friends during this heart-wrenching time.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and he urged anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward and assist in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident. Individuals who can assist are encouraged to contact the authorities at 101, quoting reference number 0947 of December 14, 2023.
