Eamonn Holmes ‘Furious and Jealous’ as Ruth Langsford Moves On After Split

Eamonn Holmes is reportedly “angry and jealous” as his ex-wife Ruth Langsford moves forward with her life and hints at a fresh start, including the possibility of a new romance. The former couple, who shocked fans by announcing their split in May, are now navigating a tense and public separation.

According to Closer magazine, Ruth has confided in friends that “life begins after divorce” and is eager to embrace her next chapter. “Ruth’s sass is definitely back,” a source shared. “She’s ready for exciting new adventures and a new man – if and when it’s on her terms – but for now, she’s not overly fussed about jumping into anyone’s bed but her own”, reported by Closer Magazine.

Friends, described as Ruth’s “armour,” are reportedly helping her through this difficult period. “Girls’ nights out and piña coladas are filling the void,” the insider added. Meanwhile, Eamonn is said to be “angry and jealous,” though Ruth is “keeping dignified” as the split plays out.

Ruth recently enjoyed a successful stint on I’m A Celebrity! spin-off Unpacked, where she supported her Loose Women pals Jane Moore and GK Barry. Reports suggest she is looking forward to 2025 and celebrating the finalization of her divorce with a big night out. “On the receipt of her being a free woman, she is going to throw a party,” the source revealed, adding that Ruth is taking on new work opportunities and “looks amazing.”

While Ruth finds strength in her career and close friendships, Eamonn, 65, has been making headlines alongside his new partner, 43-year-old psychotherapist Katie Alexander. The pair recently made their red-carpet debut at the TRIC Christmas Lunch.

However, Ruth’s return from Australia brought subtle revelations about the divorce. During a discussion about “how to divorce well” on Loose Women, Ruth quipped, “Oh, tell me about it,” before swiftly cutting to a commercial break.

Behind the scenes, tensions appear high. “She’s mentally exhausted,” the insider said. “It’s soul-destroying to be unpicking a marriage of 14 years. She doesn’t recognise Eamonn anymore.” Ruth reportedly believes Eamonn’s behavior is embarrassing, particularly his public actions and the narrative he’s projecting.

Despite the bitterness, sources believe there is “hope” for the former couple to eventually repair their relationship for the sake of their son, Jack. For now, communication remains limited to lawyers as both work toward finalizing the divorce.

In the meantime, Eamonn’s relationship with Katie continues to progress, with recent photos of her wearing a large ring sparking engagement rumors. A source revealed, “Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie. They’re already living together, and he knows it feels right. She has given him a real lust for life.”

While the split remains raw, Ruth Langsford’s resolve to move on, coupled with Eamonn’s evolving new life, suggests both are determined to carve out their own fresh beginnings.
