Ruth Langsford Throws ‘Divorce Party’ to Celebrate Freedom from Eamonn Holmes

Ruth Langsford is preparing for a fresh start following her divorce from Eamonn Holmes, 65, and is reportedly planning a huge celebration when the legal proceedings are finalized. The Loose Women host, 65, who has been leaning on celebrity friends like Rylan Clark and Coleen Nolan for support, is ready to embrace new adventures after her marriage to Eamonn came to an end.

Since announcing their split in May after 14 years of marriage, Ruth has kept herself busy, focusing on her career and prioritizing self-care. While her estranged husband has moved on with 42-year-old relationship counselor Katie Alexander, Ruth is more focused on having fun and spending time with friends. A source shared that Ruth has said, “Life begins after divorce,” signaling her readiness for the next chapter.

The former couple, who first met in 1996 and married in 2010, share a son, Jack Holmes, 22. Ruth is reportedly planning a big divorce party once the legal confirmation comes through, celebrating the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. According to insiders, Ruth’s split from Eamonn has not been without challenges, but her friends have been a great source of support through difficult days, told the Mirror.

“Ruth’s sass is definitely back. She’s ready for new adventures, and who knows, a man – if and when, it’s on her terms,” a source told Heat magazine. “For now, girls’ nights and piña coladas are filling the void. Ruth has a force field of friends – they’re her armor and they give her great advice.”

Ruth has also been busy sharing updates about her mum Joan, 94, who suffered a fall before Christmas and broke her pelvis. Ruth kept her followers updated on her mum’s recovery journey, and she shared the good news that Joan has now been discharged from the hospital. Posting a video on Instagram, Ruth wrote: “SHE’S HOME! Mum is finally out of the hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her. As you can see, Maggie is VERY happy to have her home!”

Joan’s fall marked the second time in two years that she has had a serious injury over the festive season, having previously broken her hip in 2023. Despite the challenges, Ruth’s positive outlook on life and her plans for the future show she is ready to move forward.
