Ruth Langsford Says ‘Oh Tell Me About It’ in Divorce Update
0Ruth Langsford has shared a rare update on her ongoing divorce proceedings, nearly seven months after her split from Eamonn Holmes.
The Loose Women panellist, 64, has remained largely quiet about the breakdown of her 14-year marriage since the pair announced their shock separation in May. At the time, reports suggested that work commitments had caused them to drift in “different directions.”
However, Ruth recently broke her silence with a cheeky comment on Loose Women, hinting that the divorce has been far from smooth.
During Tuesday’s show, the panel discussed how some parents can be “selfish” during a divorce, forcing children to pick sides. Co-star Mariella Frostrup remarked: “That’s a whole other subject isn’t it, how to divorce well”, reported by the Mirror.
Ruth quipped back with a telling, “Oh tell me about it!” before the show quickly cut to a commercial break. The off-the-cuff comment drew cheers and applause from the studio audience and her fellow panellists, who were quick to pick up on the moment.
This brief remark comes amid reports that Ruth has taken the high road throughout the separation. While her ex-husband Eamonn, 64, has been spotted on public outings with his new girlfriend Katie Alexander, Ruth has kept her focus on work and personal well-being.
The TV star previously acknowledged the challenges of navigating personal struggles in the public eye. Speaking on the show about Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague’s split, Ruth reflected: “It’s a tricky time, as I know, going through all these things in public. Everyone’s got something to say, without knowing the truth.”
Meanwhile, Eamonn and Katie, 42, have been enjoying their new relationship, reportedly spending time together on a luxury Mediterranean cruise. Friends close to the couple have said they are very happy.
In September, Ruth reportedly took her “revenge” in a subtle but bold move, removing Eamonn’s £2,000 stairlift from their shared Surrey home before he returned to collect his belongings. A source claimed: “Ruth has remained quiet and classy. Even when people bring up what Eamonn has been up to, she stays silent and just smiles. She thinks that is the best way. She has had a lot of support from her friends.”
For now, Ruth continues to handle the split with grace while subtly hinting that the process has its challenges. As her co-star put it, learning how to “divorce well” is indeed a whole other subject.
