Ruth Langsford’s Sassy Comeback: Single Life, Girls’ Nights, and a Hint at New Romance

Newly single Ruth Langsford is reportedly planning a vibrant divorce party to mark the beginning of her new chapter following her confirmed separation from Eamonn Holmes.

The Loose Women star, 65, is said to be embracing her independence with gusto. Surrounded by close friends like Rylan Clark and Coleen Nolan, Ruth is prioritizing self-care and enjoying the support of her inner circle after the end of her 14-year marriage.

According to The Mirror, Ruth is optimistic about her future, reportedly sharing, “Life begins after divorce.”

Ruth and Eamonn, also 65, announced their split in May 2022. The couple had been a staple on ITV’s This Morning for years and first crossed paths in 1996. They married in 2010 in a romantic ceremony at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire and share a son, Jack Holmes, now 22.

Since the separation, Ruth has thrown herself into work and self-improvement, while Eamonn has reportedly moved on with 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander. Ruth, however, is said to be relishing her newfound freedom.

A source told Heat magazine, “Ruth’s sass is definitely back. She’s ready for new adventures. Who knows, maybe a man will come along – but it’ll be on her terms. For now, girls’ nights and piña coladas are filling the void.”

The source added, “Trips to the hairdresser and shopping for a new wardrobe have become Ruth’s go-to therapy. Her friends are her armour – they give her great advice and keep her spirits high.”

In addition to focusing on her personal journey, Ruth has been caring for her 94-year-old mother, Joan, who recently suffered a fractured pelvis in a fall. After weeks in the hospital, Joan was discharged just in time for the New Year, much to Ruth’s delight.

Ruth shared the joyous moment on Instagram, posting a heartfelt video of Joan being reunited with her dog, Maggie. Set to Everly Fair’s rendition of I Love You Always Forever, Ruth captioned the video: “SHE’S HOME! Mum is finally out of hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her. As you can see, Maggie is VERY happy to have her home!”

Joan’s recent injury marks the second time in two years she’s had a serious fall during the holiday season, following a broken hip in 2023. Despite the challenges, Ruth remains focused on family, friends, and her promising new chapter.

With her upbeat attitude and vibrant social life, Ruth is proving that there’s plenty of joy to be found in starting over.
