Ruth Langsford Posts ‘Unpacking Boxes’ Clip as She Starts Fresh After Eamonn Holmes Split
Ruth Langsford gave fans a glimpse into her weekend on social media, and it seems she’s been keeping busy in the most relatable way—unpacking boxes. In a light-hearted clip shared online, the Loose Women presenter showed off a huge delivery from QVC, packed full of colourful clothes and handbags ready for spring and summer.
“So this is how I’m spending my afternoon!” she laughed, showing off the towering boxes that had just arrived. “That’s handbags in there, this is all my spring/summer stock. Look at those lovely colours! That’s all got to be unpacked and hung up.”
It was a cheerful, upbeat moment from Ruth, who’s had a tough year following the end of her long marriage to former This Morning co-star Eamonn Holmes. Now living solo in Surrey, she’s doing her best to move forward with a smile—and the video seemed to capture exactly that, reported the Express.
While those close to her say it’s not been easy, Ruth recently marked a major milestone—her first birthday without Eamonn. But true to form, she put on a brave face and told friends she was “determined to have a good birthday.” Loved ones rallied around her to help make the day special, and despite the circumstances, she made the most of it.
Opening up in Woman and Home magazine, Ruth shared how she’s been handling the emotional fallout. “Relationship breakdowns are very difficult, but you deal with it and have to move on,” she said. “You can let yourself crumble, or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.”
She admitted the process hasn’t been easy, especially with the public watching. “Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job. I’ve always had that, and if you can’t cope, you shouldn’t be doing this job.”
Ruth was honest about how it feels now: “I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.”
Behind the scenes, the reported reason for the split has stirred further heartache. According to The Sun, things reached breaking point when Ruth allegedly overheard Eamonn having an intimate phone conversation with another woman, believing he was alone at the time.
“She confronted Eamonn. It was quite a shock for both of them,” a source claimed. “To discover he was sharing intimate chats with another woman was a real kick in the teeth for Ruth.”
Though the woman on the other end of the line hasn’t been named, it’s now known that Eamonn has moved on and is in a new relationship with Katie Alexander. Despite it all, Ruth seems to be focusing on herself, surrounding herself with positivity and looking ahead—starting with a fresh wardrobe and some well-earned self-care.
