Roman Kemp Delivers “Breaking News” on The One Show: Vernon Kay to Host Children In Need
0Roman Kemp halted The One Show on Tuesday night (October 15) to share some “breaking news” with viewers about a special guest. Alongside co-host Alex Jones, Roman revealed a major career announcement for their guest, Vernon Kay, who was in the studio for an interview.
During the show, Alex teased the exciting news: “Now there’s just over a month to go until we’ll all be getting ready to stick on our Pudsey ears and help raise an incredible amount of money for this year’s Children In Need appeal show on the 15th of November”, told the Daily Record.
Roman then took the opportunity to reveal the big news: “Yeah, and we can reveal that the presenter helping host the big night for the very first time is here right now. It’s Vernon Kay!” He congratulated Vernon, adding, “You’re one of six presenters on the big night.”
Vernon, husband of Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly, smiled at the news and was asked by Roman why he decided to take on the hosting role. Vernon, known for his work on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, gave an emotional explanation, reflecting on his previous involvement with Children In Need. He shared how his charity run for the cause had left a lasting impact on him, saying, “It really plucked at my own personal heartstrings as you really see how important Children In Need is to so many people.”
The heartfelt announcement left viewers excited for Vernon’s new role in the upcoming Children In Need appeal, one of the BBC’s biggest charity events of the year.
Also in the studio during the show was Aidan Turner, promoting his new series Rivals, based on a Jilly Cooper novel. The star’s appearance added to the evening’s excitement as Roman and Alex balanced entertainment and heartwarming charity news.
With Vernon’s debut as a Children In Need host just weeks away, fans of the BBC show are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a memorable night of fundraising and entertainment.
