Ranvir Singh Makes On-Air Blunder While Hosting ITV’s Lorraine
Ranvir Singh took the hosting reins on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday, August 19, and found herself in an awkward moment after a minor on-air slip-up. The Good Morning Britain presenter, who often steps in for Lorraine Kelly during the holiday season, accidentally made a mistake while interviewing Celebrity Big Brother star Bradley Riches.
During the interview, Ranvir was eager to congratulate Bradley on his recent engagement. Back in April, the reality TV star shared the exciting news that he and his long-term boyfriend, Scott Johnston, were planning to take their relationship to the next level. However, in her excitement, Ranvir mistakenly referred to Scott by the wrong name.
“I have to say, congratulations on your engagement, which is absolutely gorgeous. Just tell us a bit about Charlie and how you got engaged,” Ranvir said, before Bradley quickly corrected her, saying, “Scott.” Realizing her mistake, Ranvir immediately apologized, saying, “Sorry.”
Bradley took the mix-up in stride, laughing and joking, “I was about to say, who’s this mystery man?” Ranvir, brushing off the error, addressed the viewers with a light-hearted comment: “Yes, exactly, there’s no scoop here, by the way,” before the conversation returned to the details of Bradley’s proposal, the Mirror.
Bradley went on to share more about his romantic engagement, explaining, “Scott, he’s in the theatre world. We met at drama school and just kept building this relationship.” He added, “I trust him a lot, and he asked me, and I was like, ‘Yeah, why not.'”
Ranvir then asked if Bradley had anticipated the proposal. He revealed, “Well, this is the thing. We said if I won Celebrity Big Brother, I was like, ‘Propose to me to make it a really good year.’ I didn’t win, obviously, but he still did it.”
Bradley Riches, best known for his role as James McEwan in the Netflix teen series Heartstopper, gained further recognition when he appeared as a housemate on the twenty-third series of Celebrity Big Brother in March 2024. The show also featured other well-known personalities, including Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. Despite the on-air hiccup, the interview continued smoothly, with Ranvir and Bradley sharing laughs and celebrating his happy news.
