Princess Mary steps out with Prince Frederik on Christmas amid his affair scandal

Princess Mary of Denmark demonstrated her support for her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, by attending a Christmas Eve service with him, despite the backdrop of his rumored affair. The royal couple, displaying affection and unity, were seen holding hands at the event which took place at Aarhus Cathedral, accompanied by their four children.

The Danish royal family, including Queen Margrethe, attended the festive gathering at Marselisborg Castle. Also present were Frederik’s brother, Prince Joachim, his wife Princess Marie, and their children, Count Henrik and Countess Athena.

This public appearance follows a period of speculation surrounding Crown Prince Frederik, after reports surfaced of an alleged affair with a Mexican socialite. The rumors were fueled by a Spanish magazine article claiming the Crown Prince was seen with Genoveva Casanova, with both entering her apartment building separately and re-emerging two hours later.

Amid these rumors, Princess Mary, originally from Tasmania, posted a cryptic message on her Mary Foundation website. In her letter, she touched on themes of loneliness and the need for support and collaboration, particularly in combating social isolation.

Princess Mary, aged 51, and Crown Prince Frederik, 55, have been married since 2004 and share four children: Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 16, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, both 12. The royal couple’s public appearance at the Christmas service amidst the scandal reflects their ongoing commitment to their family and public duties.
