Prince William Reveals His True Feelings About ‘Separation’ from Kate Middleton

Prince William is setting off on his first international trip of the year with a two-day visit to Estonia, marking a significant moment in his royal calendar. Arriving in Estonia on March 20, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales is embracing the opportunity to strengthen international relations and explore key topics such as security and renewable energy.

“Great to be visiting Estonia for the first time! Looking forward to an exciting two days here,” William shared in a statement as he arrived, clearly eager to begin his solo diplomatic mission. During his visit to Estonia, Prince William opened up about the emotional challenges of experiencing separation from his wife, Kate Middleton. While embarking on his first international trip of 2025, William expressed how difficult it is to be away from his family, particularly when he’s traveling without Kate by his side.

“It’s always hard being apart from Kate, especially on long trips,” he admitted, acknowledging the strain of the separation. Despite the distance, William remains focused on his royal duties, emphasizing the importance of his work abroad, including meetings with officials, military troops, and refugees.

While his wife, Kate Middleton, stayed in the U.K., William’s visit holds considerable diplomatic importance. His meetings include talks with Estonia’s President, Alar Karis, with discussions expected to focus heavily on the ongoing war in Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine, as well as NATO’s role in the region, is likely to be a significant part of William’s engagements.

As part of his trip, the Prince of Wales is also scheduled to meet British troops stationed in Estonia, who are part of “Operation Cabrit,” a NATO initiative designed to bolster security in Eastern Europe. “Operation Cabrit is the name of the U.K. operational deployment to Estonia where British troops are leading a multinational battlegroup as part of the enhanced Forward Presence (eFP),” stated the British Army.

Beyond his military-focused engagements, William will also explore Estonia’s leadership in renewable energy, with a focus on how the country is tackling the region’s ongoing energy crisis. The trip will give him an opportunity to see firsthand the innovations and efforts Estonia is making toward sustainability.

In addition, William is set to meet Ukrainian refugees who have resettled in Estonia, offering a gesture of support to those displaced by the war. This humanitarian aspect of the visit reflects William’s ongoing commitment to social causes and his broader role in supporting global efforts to address displacement and conflict.

This trip to Estonia underscores Prince William’s growing role in international diplomacy and his ongoing dedication to issues of global significance, from security and defense to sustainable energy and refugee support.
