Prince Harry will phone call King Charles on his birthday after several weeks without speaking

As King Charles commemorates his 75th birthday, Prince Harry plans to extend an olive branch by giving his father a birthday call amidst speculations about the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle’s attendance at Charles’ Clarence House party.

Reports initially suggested that the couple turned down an invitation, but Harry and Meghan countered, asserting they never received one.

Despite not having seen or spoken to each other since the passing of Queen Elizabeth in September last year, sources close to the couple indicate that Harry is making the effort to connect with his father on this special occasion.

King Charles is marking his birthday with meaningful initiatives, including hosting an NHS reception and launching a project to address food poverty. In his statement, the King emphasized the urgency of addressing both food poverty and waste, stating that “food need is as real and urgent a problem as food waste.”

He expressed concern about the impact of “cost of living pressures” on families and individuals, leading to a lack of access to nutritious meals. The poverty project aims to establish distribution hubs filled with surplus food to alleviate this issue.

To mark the King’s birthday, a 41-gun salute will be fired at noon in London’s Green Park by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, named after Charles’s grandfather, King George VI.

Additionally, an hour later, the Honourable Artillery Company will fire a 62-gun salute at Tower Wharf, Tower of London, with an extra 21 guns added for the City of London. The day’s events underscore a blend of personal and public celebrations for King Charles III.
