Prince Harry terribly misses ‘safety net’ in Columbia: Body language expert

Prince Harry, accompanied by an extensive security detail, touched down in Colombia as part of a mission focused on child welfare. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who Prince Harry terribly misses his former life in the UK, arrived in Bogotá and were warmly greeted by locals, but their arrival was underscored by the formidable security measures in place.

The couple’s presence was secured by a heavily armed team, with soldiers lining the streets outside a school they visited, ensuring that the area was tightly controlled. The security detail also included officers on motorbikes and sharp-suited guards, all working together to maintain a secure environment for the royal couple.

Despite the visible security, body language expert Judi James noted that Prince Harry appeared slightly uneasy during the visit. She observed, “Harry walks ahead in less of a performative mode. He forms a polite smile but his expression is a little more tempered and complex. His eye expression looks almost wary, which could be natural given that he is a royal without the kind of protocols and even safety nets the Firm will have when they are on proper royal tours.”

The level of security underscores the challenges Prince Harry and Meghan Markle face as they continue their humanitarian efforts outside the protective bubble of the British Royal Family. Their trip to Colombia, focused on child welfare, is part of their ongoing commitment to global causes, but it also highlights the complexities of their new life as independent public figures.

This visit marks another chapter in the couple’s work, following their high-profile exit from royal duties in 2020. While they no longer have the same royal protocols and security provided by “The Firm,” their presence in global humanitarian efforts remains strong. The extensive security measures in Colombia reflect the need to protect the couple as they navigate their roles on the world stage.

The Duchess of Sussex, who accompanied Harry on this visit, appeared poised and engaged with those they met, despite the heavy security presence. The couple’s work in Colombia is part of a broader mission to support child welfare initiatives, a cause they have championed in various countries since stepping back from their royal roles.

As Prince Harry and Meghan continue to carve out their path, balancing their public roles with personal safety remains a priority. Their presence in Colombia serves as a reminder of the unique challenges they face, but also of their unwavering commitment to the causes they care deeply about.
