PR expert Mark Borkowski shared insights into this change during an interview with Best magazine. “There has been a separation [of their work] for a while,” Borkowski explained, highlighting that the couple’s shift in strategy has been in motion for some time.

According to Borkowski, Prince Harry has returned to what worked for him during his time as a member of the Royal Family. “Harry is ‘going back to basics’ with a formula that worked well for him as a Royal Family member,” Borkowski noted. However, he also acknowledged that the couple’s initial hopes for their brand didn’t pan out as expected. “There’s also the realization that the couple’s ‘star power’ wasn’t as successful as they hoped. They had to change the narrative,” he added.

This pivot in strategy comes as the couple faces a critical moment in redefining their public personas. While Harry’s solo endeavors have garnered positive attention, Meghan’s role has been less publicly visible in recent months, leading to speculation about her future direction.

Royal correspondent Jennie Bond also weighed in on the situation, offering a more candid view of Meghan’s current standing. “Meghan is not popular. She doesn’t want to come back and they are going their own ways, to some extent,” Bond said, pointing to the challenges Meghan faces in regaining public favor, particularly in the UK.

The couple’s decision to pursue individual projects may reflect a realization that their joint brand has not resonated as strongly with audiences as they initially hoped. Harry has been focusing on causes that align with his royal work, such as his mental health advocacy and efforts with the Invictus Games.
