Prince Harry to Return to the UK Soon, but Meghan Won’t Be Joining Him
0Prince Harry has confirmed his upcoming trip to the UK later this month to attend the WellChild Awards, though whether Meghan Markle will join him remains unclear. The Duke of Sussex will arrive in London on September 30 for the event, but no official word has been given on the Duchess of Sussex’s attendance.
In a statement confirming his visit, Harry expressed his admiration for the children and caregivers honored by the WellChild Awards. “I am once again honored to attend this year’s WellChild Awards, celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs,” he said.
“These incredible young people, along with the dedicated caregivers, nurses, and professionals who tirelessly support them, inspire us all. It is a true privilege to recognize such extraordinary individuals.” Harry last attended the ceremony in 2023 without Meghan, leading to speculation that her presence this year is unlikely.
In an earlier interview with The Sun, the Duke explained his reasons for not bringing Meghan back to the UK amid his ongoing dispute with the British government over security concerns. “There is more than enough attention on me and my wife (Meghan) anyway,” he said in the interview. “They pushed me too far. It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read—whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me.”
Harry further emphasized the seriousness of the security threats, stating, “It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.” As Prince Harry prepares for the WellChild Awards, which honors the resilience and bravery of children with serious health conditions, the focus remains on his solo trip to the UK. Whether Meghan will join him for future events in the country remains to be seen.
