Expert Warns: Prince Harry Could Be Forced to Leave America if Visa Dispute Escalates

Prince Harry could be facing a challenging decision about his future in America if Donald Trump returns to the White House. The Duke of Sussex, who has lived in the U.S. with his wife, Meghan Markle, since 2020, may find his visa status in jeopardy following admissions of past drug use in his memoir, Spare.

Royal experts speculate that Trump’s administration could adopt a less favorable stance toward Harry, potentially influencing his residency status. Royal expert Phil Dampier discussed the situation with The Sun, noting, “This has been going on for about two years now.”

He highlighted how the conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation, has been scrutinizing Harry’s visa situation, suggesting that he may have been given preferential treatment. “I think they feel that Prince Harry has been treated differently from other people who’ve applied for visas to stay in the States,” Dampier explained.

As the U.S. presidential election approaches, Dampier suggested that a potential Trump victory might bring “bad news for Harry and Meghan, because [Trump] is very much anti-them.” Trump has previously voiced criticism of the Sussexes, particularly regarding their statements on American politics, which he has deemed inappropriate for foreign royals residing in the U.S. Dampier added, “It’s fairly well documented that they don’t like him, and he doesn’t particularly like them.”

So far, Harry’s residency appears stable, with support likely coming from the Biden administration. “Up until now, [Harry] has very much had the protection of the Biden Administration,” Dampier said, adding, “At the moment, he’s hanging on a bit by the skin of his teeth.”

However, a potential shift in U.S. leadership could prompt Harry to rethink his residence in the States. “It’s the sort of thing which, if it goes the other way, it might push him back into coming back to the UK,” Dampier concluded.

With the presidential race intensifying, Harry’s position could become more precarious, leaving him to weigh his options should the political landscape in the U.S. shift dramatically in the coming months.
