Patsy Kensit Embraces Single Life After Years of High-Profile Marriages
0Actress Patsy Kensit recently declared her contentment with singlehood, revealing she has no desire for a new relationship despite still believing in love. Speaking with Hello!, Kensit shared, “I wouldn’t want a relationship, I am not interested. I do believe in love… but it’s not something I need. I’ve been on my own a long time, and I like my own company.” Now, she’s focused on “adjusting my life to fill the hole that’s in my soul.”
Kensit’s relationship history includes four high-profile marriages, beginning in 1988 with musician Dan Donovan, whom she divorced in 1991. She went on to marry Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr in 1992; they welcomed a son, James, in 1993 but divorced three years later. Her marriage to Oasis singer Liam Gallagher in 1997 brought her another son, Lennon, but they split in 2000. In 2009, Kensit wed DJ Jeremy Healy, but the marriage ended after ten months. She was most recently engaged to property tycoon Patric Cassidy, though the engagement reportedly ended in 2024.
Despite her commitment to single life, some close to Kensit remain skeptical about her ability to maintain a partnerless lifestyle. “I find it hard to believe when I hear such a dedicated devotee of a relationship suddenly proclaiming that she will handle all that comes with a partnerless life. I think Patsy will soon find out that talking the talk is far easier than actually walking the ‘singular’ walk,” one friend noted, told the Daily Mail.
In addition to her personal life shifts, Kensit has faced financial hardships. In 2021, she suffered significant losses when her skincare business, Preciously Perfect, collapsed, forcing her to sell her home. She explained, “People assume I have all this money because of past marriages, and that’s just not the case. I need to make a living… I had to sell my home and totally start again.” The collapse left her questioning her identity: “I was like, ‘Who am I?’”
Beyond her business ventures, Kensit has kept busy with acting roles. Known for her portrayal of Sadie King on Emmerdale and a recent appearance in EastEnders, she’s been an enduring figure in British television.
Meanwhile, Ulrika Jonsson, who has had her own share of relationship ups and downs, commented on the dating challenges faced by women over 50. Writing in her Sun column, Jonsson revealed, “I’ve found that the men closer in age to me… carry more baggage than Heathrow’s Terminal 5. No thanks, mate.” Sharing her preference for younger men, Jonsson reflected on the “drought” of suitable partners, yet insisted she does not consider herself “unlucky in love.”
Kensit’s decision to embrace singlehood marks a new chapter as she continues to navigate life on her own terms, valuing independence and self-discovery over the pursuit of romance.
