Loose Women Meltdown! Janet Street-Porter Explodes on ‘Selfish’ Co-Star Live on Air

In a dramatic and heated episode of the popular ITV daytime program, the panel was thrust into controversy as opinions clashed over emigration and personal health responsibilities. The show, featuring a star-studded line-up, was marked by a contentious exchange between Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter and co-star Denise Welch.

The live broadcast saw host Ruth Langsford return to the panel alongside Janet, Denise, and Coleen Nolan. The group, known for their candid discussions on current issues, turned the spotlight on the subject of moving abroad during a segment titled “Have you considered emigrating?”. The debate quickly intensified when Janet accused Denise of lacking consideration, reported the Mirror.

Janet said: “That’s so selfish.” This comment set off a chain reaction, with Denise challenging the remark by asking: “Why is it selfish?” The disagreement deepened when a journalist intervened, stating: “If you don’t like the country you are in, do something about it yourself”, with Denise replying: “I’m trying to.” Janet continued: “Then go to another like Dubai..”

Denise interrupted saying: “You pay no tax and it’s safe. In this country, we respect the country’s human rights more than the victim’s human rights.” The on-air exchange highlighted a polarisation of views, reflecting broader debates about national loyalty, personal freedom, and social responsibility.

Amid the controversy, Ruth Langsford steered the conversation towards a pressing health matter. During the same program, she issued an urgent appeal to viewers regarding the importance of skin health. “We will be talking about skin today. Are you taking care of it? Any change of your condition on your skin could be an indication that there is something else going on in your body.”

Her comments underscored the potential hidden risks of neglecting skin examinations. She added further gravity by noting: “Dermatologists are warning we are all guilty of not taking enough time to really look at our skin and therefore look after ourselves.”

Ruth also recounted her personal experience with routine health checks, stressing the importance of vigilance as one age. “When I was younger, you kind of ignored things and you never thought about it. But definitely, as I’ve gotten older – I’ve been twice this week – I go twice a year to get my moles checked. When we were young, we didn’t know the dangers of sunbathing and my dad was in the army so we were abroad a lot running around in the sun. I remember sunscreen being around but not smothering it on.”

She reassured viewers by adding: “I’ve just had a little thing done here this week but it’s nothing to worry about because it’s been checked.” Co-star Coleen then queried: “Didn’t you go green earlier” to which Ruth replied: “I did go green but it’s gone now. I don’t know what that was, maybe because it was early morning.”

This episode of the program proved once again that live television can be a platform for passionate debates and personal revelations, keeping audiences engaged with real-time discussions on social and health issues.
