Ozzy Osbourne Reveals Heartbreaking Loss, Fans Rally with Condolences

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has announced the heartbreaking news that his cherished pet dog, Rocky, has passed away, leaving the Osbourne family devastated. The Prince of Darkness took to Instagram to share his sorrow, revealing that his loyal Pomeranian had died after 15 years of companionship.

Ozzy, known for his love of animals, expressed his grief in a heartfelt post to his fans. “Two days ago I lost my good friend Rocky who has been at my side for 15 years. I’ll see you on the other side, my friend. I love you always – Ozzy,” he wrote. The Osbourne household has always been filled with dogs, who have not only kept them company but also made appearances in various shows, told the Mirror.

Fans were quick to offer their condolences to the grieving rocker. One follower commented, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Rocky truly was so special to you. Loved watching him on TV and World Detour. Losing a pet is so hard.” Another added, “This is so sad. I’m so sorry, Ozzy. Losing a pet is one of the worst pains in the world.”

Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, has faced a series of health challenges in recent years, including his fourth spinal surgery in September 2023. Despite these setbacks, he has been focusing on improving his health and mobility. The BBC has been working on a 10-part reality series titled Home to Roost, which chronicles the lives of Ozzy and his wife, Sharon, as they plan to leave Los Angeles and return to England. However, the move has been delayed, with Ozzy still residing in LA.

Sharon, 71, recently discussed their ongoing struggle to relocate on the US podcast Howie Mandel Does Stuff. She explained, “I wanted to reverse it; to spend more time in England and come here (to LA) and visit, like on birthdays, holidays, and stuff like that. And I have been trying to get Ozzy to get out of the house and come to England. I am still trying.”

Filming for the BBC series began in January 2023, and executives have promised that the Osbournes will eventually make the move to the UK later this year. However, a source close to the family revealed that Ozzy has another priority on his mind.

“Ozzy wants to be able to attend the Ohio ceremony for his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame solo career induction in October,” the source said. “He is building up his stamina, strength, and balance to get out on the stage. That is his big project currently and involves working in LA with his band and physios.”

Given the personal nature of Ozzy’s rehabilitation, certain aspects of his journey will remain off-limits to the cameras. As Ozzy continues to work on his recovery, he and Sharon are also spending time with their five grandchildren in Los Angeles—four granddaughters from their son Jack, 38, and a baby grandson from their daughter Kelly, 39.
