Nottingham Police Seek Suspect in Dual Knife-Point Robberies at Local Petrol Station

Nottinghamshire Police have released CCTV images seeking public assistance to identify a suspect involved in two separate knife-point robberies at a petrol station. The incidents, described as “terrifying,” occurred at the Shell service station on Carlton Road in December.

The first robbery unfolded on December 15 at approximately 7.25 am. A masked individual, armed with a knife, entered the station, threatening a staff member and demanding cash, e-cigarettes, and tobacco. The suspect, who filled a black rucksack with goods totaling £187 in cash and approximately £4,350 in tobacco products, fled the scene without causing any physical injuries.

A similar crime was reported at the same location on New Year’s Eve, just before 7.30 am. In this instance, the assailant, again with his face covered and wielding a large knife, coerced the staff into surrendering cash and a substantial quantity of cigarettes. The value of the stolen items in this incident amounted to £300 in cash and around £6,000 in tobacco products. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

In response to these alarming events, the police have circulated photos of an individual they wish to identify as part of their investigation.

Detective Constable Anabelle Lee, leading the investigation, expressed concern for the welfare of the petrol station staff. She highlighted the traumatic impact on the employees, particularly noting the distress caused to a female staff member. Emphasizing the severity of the situation, DC Lee stated, “No one should have to go to work in our city and be threatened with this level of violence and fear for their lives.”

The police believe there is a connection between the two robberies and are resolute in their efforts to apprehend the perpetrator.”r lives. We believe both of these incidents are connected and we are determined to catch the person responsible.
