Naomi Campbell Teases Trendy Looks from Her Upcoming Pretty Little Thing Collection

Iconic supermodel Naomi Campbell unveiled a glimpse of her upcoming fashion collection with Pretty Little Thing, slated for a September 5 launch. Campbell, featured in Vogue’s September issue alongside legendary supermodels Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, and Christy Turlington, showcased a diverse range of designs, from elegant white dresses to chic club wear.

Collaborating with budding designers Victor Anate and Edvin Thompson, the runway veteran’s collection boasts of sultry numbers, like a low-cut black minidress and a black faux leather halter with a crocodile pattern. One standout piece is a sequined rose gold dress reminiscent of the famous Gianni Versace metal minis of the ’90s, a trend Campbell was instrumental in popularizing.

The collection isn’t shy of bold choices either, such as a sheer black catsuit paired with a lengthy vegan leather trench coat. Yet, it also offers softer designs fit for sophisticated evenings, like a white maxi dress adorned with a discreet cutout.

In a recent chat with Women’s Wear Daily, Campbell opened up about the collaboration, acknowledging potential criticism for teaming up with a fast fashion brand, reminiscent of the flak Kourtney Kardashian received for her Boohoo collaboration. However, Campbell highlighted her intent, “As a changemaker, my goal was to elevate emerging designers to a global platform.”

Campbell’s Instagram reveal did stir some controversy, with users questioning her choice of brand collaboration. However, she emphasized her collaboration with Anate, a young Nigerian talent, and Thompson, the force behind Brooklyn’s Theophilio, as a step towards promoting diverse talent in the industry.

Pointing out another advantage of the collaboration, Campbell noted the chance to engage with a younger audience. Moreover, the collection promises to be both inclusive, spanning sizes 0 to 26, and wallet-friendly, with prices ranging between $10 and $185.

Fashion enthusiasts should mark their calendars for September 5, when the full collection will grace the runway at the PLT x Naomi Campbell show at Cipriani Broadway.
