Naga Munchetty Takes on New Hosting Role at BBC Radio 5 Live’s ‘Must Watch’ Podcast

Naga Munchetty, widely recognized for her role as a BBC Breakfast presenter, has added another hosting gig to her already busy schedule. Known for waking up the nation alongside Charlie Stayt from Thursday to Saturday, Naga is now set to join the BBC Radio 5 Live’s Must Watch podcast.

Following a recent shake-up in the podcast’s lineup, Naga has stepped in to replace the outgoing host, Nihal Arthanayake. She will be joining TV critics Scott Bryan and Hayley Campbell, who both remain on the show. Together, the trio will guide listeners through the best and worst TV and streaming programs, offering recommendations and reviews of must-see content, reported HELLO!

While Naga has yet to comment on her new role, her co-star Scott Bryan announced her arrival with a warm welcome via X (formerly Twitter). “Must Watch is back from next Monday at a new time, with a new host. Naga Munchetty (@TVNaga01) will be with Hayley and me every Monday, taking us through the best (and worst) on television,” Scott tweeted. He also informed listeners of the new broadcast time, adding, “We’ll also be on at a new time, 1 pm on Mondays. The podcast is also out each week.”

The announcement sparked a variety of reactions from fans, with many excited to see Naga take on the new role, while others expressed concern over how she would manage her seemingly packed schedule. Naga currently hosts a politics and current affairs show on BBC Radio 5 Live from Monday to Wednesday, airing from 11 am to 1 pm.

To accommodate her new role on Must Watch, adjustments have been made to Naga’s schedule. Starting next week on Monday, September 2, Naga’s radio show will extend until 2 pm, allowing her to transition directly into her new podcast duties. Scott clarified this change in response to a fan’s query, confirming, “From next week, it ends at 2.”

Naga joined the BBC Radio 5 Live team in 2020, succeeding Emma Barnett. At the time, she expressed her excitement about the new opportunity, saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the 5 Live team. I have always wanted to work more in radio, and after such an enjoyable experience presenting on the station recently, I jumped at this opportunity. 5 Live has one of the most passionate, engaged audiences in radio.

The prospect of talking to those listeners every week really excites me. I can’t wait to get stuck into the role from January.” With her expanded responsibilities, Naga Munchetty continues to solidify her presence across multiple media platforms, balancing her roles on both TV and radio.
