Young Mum of Five Dies Suddenly on Boxing Day Leaving Family and Community Heartbroken
Jamie-Louise Farren, a devoted mother of five, passed away tragically on Boxing Day at just 35 years old after suffering an asthma attack at her home in Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire. Her sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the community heartbroken.
Diagnosed with asthma as a baby, Jamie-Louise endured numerous hospitalizations throughout her life due to the condition. Following her untimely death, her devastated mother, Lorraine Dawes-Farren, urged asthma sufferers to prioritize their health. She said, “Asthma is a serious illness and unfortunately in our family’s case, a killer. Give your asthma the due care and attention that it seriously needs”, reported by the Mirror.
Remembering her daughter, Lorraine described Jamie-Louise as “a truly beautiful soul.” She reflected on their close bond, saying, “Being a very young and inexperienced mother of sixteen years old, I feel Jamie-Louise and I grew up together. Jamie-Louise taught me unconditional love in every aspect of my life. She grew from a sassy little girl who loved life to the full, to a beautiful, strong, and independent woman.”
Jamie-Louise was well-loved in her community and known for her larger-than-life personality, charm, and dedication to her children: Ethan, 16; Nevaeh, 14; Maggie-Mae, 10; Henry-George, 7; and Colt-Jax, 2. Lorraine added, “She fiercely loved them and spent her time baking, crafting, and going places with them. Being a mother came naturally to her, and she showed her love for them every day of their lives.”
Her younger sister, Georgina, described Jamie-Louise as “a loving, funny big sister with a heart of gold,” adding, “She often put others before herself and lived for her children up until her last breath. She will be missed deeply.”
To support Jamie-Louise’s family during this challenging time, a GoFundMe campaign was launched and has raised over £2,300. The family expressed their gratitude, saying, “We’re absolutely humbled with the amount donated so far. The kindness and unity of the Withernsea community have been a tremendous source of strength.”
Lorraine also thanked the emergency services and local funeral providers for their care and compassion on the night of Jamie-Louise’s passing, saying, “This was the worst day of our lives, but the kindness, compassion, and unwavering support they provided mean more than words can convey.”
Jamie-Louise will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and friend whose warmth and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
