Mother and Daughter, Missing for Months, Discovered Deceased in Home

In a disquieting development from Nottingham, police discovered two bodies at a residence on Hartley Road, Radford, following reports of concern for their welfare. The grim find occurred on Tuesday morning, sparking widespread shock and sorrow among the local community, as reported by Nottinghamshire Live.

Residents expressed their dismay, noting the quiet nature of the property’s occupants—a mother and daughter believed to be in their 40s and teens respectively, who had resided there for the past eight years. It appears that the bodies may have gone unnoticed for an extended period. The police were observed examining garbage bins outside the home, which neighbors mentioned had not been taken out for some time.

Deborah Williams, a local, commented on the unusual openness of the house’s windows since early February, around the time she last observed the pair. “The mum always seemed very calm. It’s a shame. They seemed to be living a simple, normal life, not drawing any unnecessary attention,” Williams told the publication, recalling the quiet and unassuming nature of the duo. The manner of their disappearance didn’t raise immediate suspicions, as they were known to take extended trips away from home.

As evening approached, forensic teams clothed in white suits arrived, cordoning off the scene with red hazard tape. The bodies were subsequently removed through the back garden of the property. Neighbors expressed their astonishment and distress over the incident, emphasizing the ordinarily peaceful character of their street.

One resident remarked, “I saw the police investigating but wasn’t sure what happened. I didn’t see any suspicious activity before. It’s shocking to know something like this has happened on our doorstep. It’s just a normal residential street.”

Another neighbor, opting to remain anonymous, shared their grief: “It’s very sad, I’m at a loss for words. I’ve tried finding out online what exactly happened but couldn’t find anything. It’s so sad.”

The identities of the deceased have yet to be formally confirmed, and no cause of death has been announced by the authorities. However, the police have reassured the public that there is no immediate risk associated with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow commented on the case, stating, “We are keeping an open mind into what has happened at this address and will be working hard over the next few days to establish how and when these two women lost their lives. In the meantime, my thoughts—and those of every other officer involved in this investigation—are with those who have died, their family, and friends.
