Meghan Markle Plans Malibu Move After Harry’s $10 Million Inheritance

Meghan Markle is reigniting plans that were previously put on hold after Prince Harry received a substantial financial windfall from the UK. The Duke of Sussex, who celebrated his 40th birthday last month, has inherited a significant sum—approximately $10 million—tax-free from his late great-grandmother, the Queen Mother’s trust fund, established back in 1994.

With this new financial boost, Meghan is reportedly ready to revisit the idea of relocating their family. According to sources, the Duchess of Sussex has set her sights on Malibu, a move she had pushed for a year ago but was delayed due to cash flow concerns. “Meghan was really pushing for a move to Malibu a year ago, but then they had to put the brakes on that for cash flow issues,” an insider told Closer magazine. “With Harry’s inheritance, the plan is back on the table.”

The insider added that Meghan has long felt out of place in their current Montecito residence. “She always felt like a big fish in a small pond in Montecito, so it’s only a matter of time before she and Harry make good on her wish to up sticks to leave,” they shared.

Interestingly, Meghan’s former friend and British socialite made a remark at a charity event hosted by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, hinting at the actress’s ambitions. “Meghan needs LA more than LA needs her,” she told The Mail. The statement has fueled speculation about the Sussexes’ potential move and what it could mean for Meghan’s social aspirations.

The insider suggested that relocating to Malibu would provide Harry and Meghan with better opportunities to network and strengthen connections crucial for Meghan’s growing brand. “It would make it a lot easier to schmooze with the sort of people they need to cosy up to for the sake of Meghan’s brand,” the source explained.

Currently, Meghan is racing against time with her business ambitions. She’s facing pressure over the trademark of her brand name, “American Riviera Orchard.” The launch has reportedly been delayed, and it remains uncertain if the Duchess will decide to change the name altogether.
