Meghan’s Bold Move: Why She Won’t Return to the UK After Kate’s Curtsey Controversy, Royal Biographer Says

In an eyebrow-raising prediction, royal biographer Andrew Morton suggests Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, may prefer California sunshine over British courtesies, especially when it involves a curtsy to a future Queen Kate Middleton.

Morton, a close collaborator with Diana, Princess of Wales in the ’90s, spoke with Sky News about Meghan’s potential return to British shores. He mused about Meghan’s possible discomfort, hinting she might not be too keen on the age-old tradition of bowing and curtseying. For the uninitiated, royal protocol dictates one should curtsy only to majesties, meaning Meghan would have this obligation to Kate only when she becomes Queen.

Despite this speculation, Prince Harry is planning a brief solo visit to the UK, marking the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and the accession of the new King. During this trip, it’s anticipated that Meghan will rejoin him in Germany for the Invictus Games.

Morton’s comments brought to light Princess Diana’s hopes for her sons, notably her wish for Harry to support his elder brother, William. It’s intriguing to imagine what Diana might have thought of the Sussexes’ decision to establish roots in the US.

Diving deeper into royal dynamics, Harry’s Netflix documentary and his memoir, “Spare”, highlighted tensions, including a heated disagreement between Meghan and Kate over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress. As per Harry’s account, this dispute deeply upset Meghan.

On a poignant note, as the world remembers Princess Diana on the 26th anniversary of her tragic death, Morton reflected on unheard audio tapes of the late princess. The tapes, soon to feature in a documentary titled “Diana: The Rest Of Her Story”, include Diana discussing hopes, dreams, and even moments that send shivers down the spine.

These revelations, juxtaposed with Meghan’s modern approach to royal life, remind us that beneath the tiaras and titles, these figures grapple with personal struggles and complex relationships just like the rest of us.
